While away the hours exploring the surrounding countryside with great walks direct from the property. Fishing can be accessed on foot (15 minutes). The small town of Somerton is a 2 mile drive or a scenic 20 minute walk and is famed for an annual Music and Arts Festival and offers a good provision of independent shops pubs and restaurants. A little further afield are the Mendip Hills Somerset Levels Blackdown Hills the Quantocks and Exmoor all offering stunning walks. Nearby are the historic attractions of Bath its Roman baths and spa Wells and Glastonbury whilst Clarks Village caters for those seeking some retail therapy. Other attractions easily reached by car include Longleat Wookey Hole Caves Cheddar Gorge Haynes Motor Museum Wincanton Racecourse and a selection of National Trust properties. The open-plan accommodation offers: lounge/kitchen/diner/sleeping area: open-plan area comfortable sofa to relax on with flatscreen TV and hi-fi. Sleeping area with double bed. Bath has some of Britain’s most majestic Georgian architecture, as well as the famous Roman Baths (not mention great shopping). Then there’s Wells, England’s smallest city. Wandering around the cathedral close, with its unspoilt medieval lanes is like taking a step back in time. And for a real sense of mystery, there’s Glastonbury (home of the world-famous music festival), supposedly the site of King Arthur’s mythical Avalon. All await you on one of our Somerset cottage holidays. The county has more than its fair share of beach resorts too. The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare is superb, as is the wide beach here, while Minehead and Burnham-on-Sea offer a choice of traditional seaside pleasures. Meanwhile, for nature lovers there’s the wild landscape of Exmoor, and the Mendip and Quantock Hills, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cheddar Gorge is truly stunning. Great for real Cheddar cheese too!
